We curate spaces for visionaries to design and prototype futures beyond anti-Black racism.

12 Apr 2026
Today, we announce the birth of 21Hundred, a studio for race and the future. Building on the foundations of Atlantic Fellows for Racial Equity (AFRE), a fellowship programme created through a final gift from Atlantic Philanthropies, 21Hundred is home to visionaries designing and prototyping futures beyond anti-Black racism.

From Frantz Fanon to Sylvia Wynter, Audre Lorde to Steve Biko, generations of Black thinkers have argued that the discontents of the modern world can be traced back to the model for being human coded into our lives and societies. They called for new models, new paradigms and new patterns — ones that support our individual and collective flourishing.
We envision a world in which we all belong by the year 2100 — the lodestar of our work.
In 1900, WEB Du Bois foresaw that the problem of the 20th century would be the problem of the colour line. Part prophecy, part call to action, Du Bois’s words echo into the 21st century and foreshadow the next.
We owe it to ourselves and to future generations to consign the colour line to history.
With a daring sense of duty, 21Hundred takes on this generational mission. We are seeding a movement of individuals, ideas and innovations to solve, dissolve and resolve the problem of the colour line, to chart a future beyond anti-Black racism.
Our Spaces
With imagination as method, 21Hundred curates spaces for seeking new and forgotten rhythms of relating — with ourselves, our stories and each other. In these spaces, we feel our way in to new ways of seeing and sense making in service of belonging and dignity.
Meet Our Fellows
Our 12-month Fellowship Experience invites changemakers from across the world into a collective journey of deepening their leadership, grappling with the global complexities of race, and unlocking their creativity for social change. At the end of the experience, Fellows return to their work with a clearer vision, a community of peers, and a reinvigorated sense of purpose — equipped to think expansively and act with daring towards Black Flourishing.
