Kelly-Eve Koopman

Director & Co-Creator, Coloured Mentality

“I believe that in order to reach equal global rights for Africa, combat class disparity and create a social environment where Black youth can finally thrive, we must mobilize our civil society.”

Kelly-Eve Koopman is a community leader that uses her many disciplines to propel social change. She has worked in both the theatre and film industry and has used these creative skills to develop, implement and commandeer initiatives that drive social transformation. She is also a co-creator of Coloured Mentality, a platform has become a unique interactive storytelling space for coloured community Kelly is one of three directors of FEMME projects, a nonprofit organization that facilitates workshops on female empowerment in rural communities. Over the past three years the program has served 4000 young women in 20 disenfranchised schools in the Western Cape.
