Arissa Hall

Leader and Organiser, BlackSeed

United States

Arissa Hall is a born and raised New Yorker, mama, partner, daughter, and sister-friend who is passionate about realizing collective freedom dreams and base building, in commitment to Black liberation and ultimately our collective liberation. These passions and commitments have been inspired by both her personal and professional experiences, while guided through a Black queer feminist lens.

Arissa is the former Director and co-founder of National Bail Out, a collective of Black organizers, lawyers, and culture workers committed to building a community-based movement to end pre-trial detention and mass criminalization through the use of tactical bail outs and other strategic tools. Her leadership in this collective helped birth Black Mama’s Bail Out which resulted in the release of over 450 Black mama’s and caregivers and over 100 more Black folks in subsequent bail outs.

She is also a founding member of the Black Youth Project 100 (BYP100), NYC chapter where she played an integral part in building the chapter as a founding Membership Co-Chair and Social Chair. And a 2020 fellow of Atlantic Fellowship for Racial Equity.

Today she is utilizing her tools and experiences as a leader, organizer and pragmatic visionary in the movement for liberation, to grow BlackSeed, a cannabis equity consultant company that seeks to support equity and justice through a reparative framework.
