Communications Coordinator

Reporting to the Chief Communications Officer, the Communications Coordinator will support the development of content, digital campaigns, email communications, and social storytelling, helping to craft impactful messages for internal and external audiences. The Communications Coordinator will also collaborate across teams to source stories, uplift program impact, and shape narratives that spark connection and inspire action.
The successful candidate will be responsible for planning, creating and coordinating the organisation’s communications across digital platforms, campaigns, and public-facing content. As the key driver of day-to-day messaging and channel strategy, the ideal candidate will ensure that everything shared reflects our mission, connects with our audience, and carries our signature voice and vibe.
Anticipated starting date is 1 July 2026. Ability to conduct extensive hours of work at a computer with reasonable accommodations is required.
Core Responsibilities
Communications Coordination and Implementation
Coordinate the delivery on the communication strategy, including through working across teams to develop communications plans and campaigns aligned to organisational objectives around key moments
Support the development and dissemination of communications with key audiences, including Fellows and our global network
Ensure adequate capacity and resources are in place to support delivery.
Channel Management & Content Development
Coordinate and support the execution of multi-channel communications, including email announcements, press releases, messaging documents, website content, newsletters, and other materials
Maintain a consistent, engaging brand voice and narrative tone across all communications
Under the supervision of the Head of Publications and Editorial, coordinate the development of all communications content, including hands-on drafting and designing as needed for the website, social media and other communications channels
Work across teams to surface compelling stories and program updates that demonstrate impact
Work with vendors such as photographers and designers to ensure timely, high-quality outputs.
Campaign Delivery
Deliver communications campaigns in collaboration with program and communications teams
Support the development of messaging strategies and content that build awareness, promote engagement and support organisational goals
Support outreach efforts to achieve campaign goals.
Events
Support the design, planning and delivery of events, ensuring attendee experience reflects the organisational ethos
Support the development and dissemination of compelling post-event communications.
Digital media assets management
Serve as custodian of the organisation’s digital media assets, including videos, photographs and audio, ensuring timely and appropriate storage
Support media access needs and requests of teams and external collaborators.
Templates and Promotional Materials Production
Anticipate and coordinate design and production of marketing, outreach and promotional items for internal and external audiences, including campaign and event-related items
Serve as custodian of organisational templates and stationery, including letterheads, document templates, and email signatures
Support materials production for ad hoc projects.
Media and Audience Engagement
Monitor, analyse, and report on the performance of digital channels using appropriate tools
Use insights to improve engagement, grow audiences and refine content strategies
Monitor news cycles to identify opportunities for increasing coverage of 21Hundred and fellows
Schedule and prep media interviews and track total media coverage.
Required Skills
Bachelor's degree in a related field, or the equivalent combination of training and experience
3+ years of experience in communications, digital content, or marketing, ideally in a nonprofit, cultural, or purpose-driven organisation
Exceptional writing and editing skills, with a strong grasp of tone, clarity, and audience adaptation
Experience managing social media platforms, email tools (e.g., Mailchimp), and website content management systems
Experience using design platforms such as Canva.
Strong organisational and project management skills; able to manage multiple timelines and priorities
Demonstrated ability to create values-aligned, culturally relevant content.
Desirable Skills
Familiarity with design tools like Adobe Creative Suite, or basic video editing software
Experience working in the UK nonprofit, social justice, or creative sectors
Understanding of inclusive communications and accessible digital practices.
