Communications and Outreach Coordinator

Consultant (Part-Time)

Reporting to the Head of Editorial and Publications and working collaboratively across teams, the communications manager and outreach coordinator will ensure the development and timely delivery of all communications plans and campaigns related to 21Hundred’s work.

The anticipated workload is an average of 30 hours a week between April and July 2026, working in close collaboration with the Head of Editorial and Publications.

Core Responsibilities

  1. Communications Strategy, Planning and Execution
    • Manage the communications calendar and develop organisational, programmatic and project communications plans and campaigns aligned with the communications strategy.

    • Plan communications around major programmes, publications, convenings and initiatives.

    • Identify opportunities to extend the reach and influence of 21Hundred’s ideas and work.

    • Drive the execution of all communications plans and campaigns, ensuring smooth and timely delivery of all elements.

  2. Content Development and Vendor Management
    • Coordinate the development of all communications content, including drafting copy as needed for the website, social media and other communications channels.

    • Work with vendors such as photographers and designers to ensure high-quality outputs.

  3. Outreach Coordination
    • Coordinate and support organisational outreach efforts, including during calls for applications and contributions

    • Drive the production of outreach materials and promotional items.

  4. Events and Community Building
    • Cultivate engagement with the organisation’s network of visionaries, collaborators and audiences, including through supporting the design and delivery of events, ensuring the experience reflects the organisational ethos.

    • Develop and deliver compelling post-event communications.

  5. Monitoring and Learning
    • Track and analyse communications performance (reach, engagement, growth).

    • Use insights to refine communications strategy and tactics.

Required Skills

  • Experience managing communications for mission-driven organisations or cultural/intellectual projects.

  • Strong writing and editing skills.

  • Ability to translate complex ideas into clear public narratives.

  • Experience with digital communications platforms and tools.

  • Strategic thinking combined with strong execution.

Desirable Skills

  • Interest in ideas, culture, and future-oriented thinking.

  • Ability to work independently in a small, entrepreneurial team.

  • Experience working with multimedia storytelling.

  • Sensitivity to voice, tone, and audience.
